Hourly Rates

The hourly rate is divided equally between the parties, unless they agree otherwise. The final billing will reflect the time spent for preparation and the mediation conference. In addition, a per case Administrative Fee is charged which covers file set up, document review (if provided) and filing of court disposition (if applicable).

Mediations lasting beyond the reserved time are billable in .25 hour increments and conditional on mediator availability. Additional cost, if any, will be divided equally between the parties to the mediation unless other arrangements are agreed to by the mediator and the parties involved.

Mediations, depending on the complexity, are typically scheduled for two (2) or more hours (half-day), or a six (6) hour full-day session. Parties are encouraged to call the office should unique scheduling arrangements be required.

Note: Please review "Our Commitment to Your Time" found at the bottom of this page.

There is no travel fee for mediations in Brevard, Orange, Seminole, Volusia and Indian River Counties. Travel costs beyond these areas will be determined on a case by case basis and agreed to by the parties prior to mediation. Mediation services are available throughout the State of Florida.

 Cancellation Policy

A fee equal to the two (2) hour minimum plus administrative costs will be charged for cancellations with notice of less than two (2) business days to the mediator or should a party fail to attend mediation, unless rescheduled or waived by the mediator. Should the parties resolve the dispute prior to the scheduled mediation, and greater than seven (7) days before the scheduled date, the mediator will waive the minimum hourly fees minus the administrative fee outlined above. Cancellations less than seven (7) days but greater than two (2) business days before the scheduled mediation will result in a fee equal to one (1) hour of service plus the indicated administrative fee.

Pro Se Participants (appearing without a lawyer),

For Pro Se parties (appearing without a lawyer) a deposit payable by certified check, cashier’s check or money order is required. Deposits must be received at least ten (10) days prior to mediation.

Neutrality Reminder:

Your mediator is a neutral intermediary and cannot act as an advocate for either party. If a settlement is reached, the parties are advised to have the Settlement Agreement reduced to writing and independently reviewed by their own counsel before the agreement is executed by the party and counsel.

The commitment of a specific time period for mediation is a guide to allow the parties to engage in the negotiation process. However, the clock should not take precedence over positive dialog for a successful resolution.  Should the mediation go beyond the reserved time, and not conflict with another scheduled mediation, your mediator will do his best to accommodate your needs. Mediations beyond the reserved time will be billed in .25 hour increments. Starting your mediation on time is a personal commitment I make to you, your client and the mediation scheduled following yours. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
